Landon Reynold George

Okay I am the worst, I say that every time! But now that I have a little one I need to keep it up, this past year I have missed all the major holidays and I need to keep a better journal! And I didn't record my pregnancy better... note to self, a long time from now with the next pregnancy, keep better track!

So lets talk about the title, baby G's name! So the hubby and I found out in August that we were having a little one. I was a week late, never have I ever been a week late and I kept telling Kendall, watch I'm pregnant. He said I was just stressed, well I kept freaking out so on a Monday at work at went to the store and grabbed 2 tests. I peed on a stick and less than 10 seconds later, there it was, 2 lines, Baby G was officially a bun in the oven! I frst freaked out then cried then called Kendall, who was on a job and didn't answer so I texted him then called my mom then cried some more and continued to freak out until after work when I got a blood test and it was double confirmed!

My pregnancy really was pretty easy, I never threw up, just naucious and my weight gain was pretty normal. I had a couple of issues a long the way, the first was at 8 weeks when I had major bleeding, called a subcoreonix (cannot spell that) hemorage where there was a bleed below the yoke sak, but Baby G hung in there and grew happy and healthy for 38 weeks! Well right before that 38 weeks I went in for a check up at 37.5 weeks and thought every thing would be fine because the week before I was barely progressing so I just thought they would check me and I still would be very far from having a baby BUT I was WRONG!!! My blood pressure ended up being 140/98 and I had elephant feet so at first my PA tells me I would be induced that weekend, o how I PANICKED!! I was trying to tell Kendall all of this over texts because he was at work, while trying not to burst into tears at the same time. Well the good news is my doctor put me on bed rest for the weekend and then Monday I went in and got checked and was barely at a 2, Friday I was a one, and my blood pressure was borderline high but a lot better then Friday and my swelling had gone down a lot. So then my doctor and PA came up with a game plan, I would go get checked again on Wednesday morning then if I wasn't a 2 or 3 I would go to the hospital that night and be put on cervadil to get my cervix to open (sorry that is graphic) then on Thursday morning I would be put on pitosine and the doctor would break my water. Then I go in on Wednesday and I am at a 2 WOO HOO so my doctor said I did not have to come in until Thursday morning and not be put on cervadil which would make the labor a lot easier. Well what I didn't know was that my doctor "worked some magic" and that night after my mom got to town, around 11 pm my water BROKE! Weiredest feeling ever! My contractions were about 5 minutes apart and Kendall and I made our way to the hospital.

Two epidurals, 12 hours of labor and 45 minutes of pushing later Landon was born at 11:47am on Thursday April 9th weighing 7 lbs 10oz and being 20 inches long! Too be honest, it may sound like a long labor but it went by SO fast and I actually enjoyed the experience. Kendall and I grew as a couple and what an amazing thing it is to see this little human who we created come into this world. It was also very exciting to see what he looked like.

How did little man get his name you ask?! Well actually throughout most of the pregnancy we were calling him Baby G, most people thought it was because of our last name but it really was because we had decided his name was going to be Gavin. Well that was until about a month before he was born, I was not completely sold on the name. Kendall and I also decided we would not make a complete decision until we saw him and I am so glad we did that. A few days before we really liked the name Gunnar, so when we got to the hospital our nurse asked us about a name and we said we hadn't picked one but had three. Those three were Gunnar, Gavin and Landon, she wrote them on the nice little white board in the room and we had our nurses and doctors vote. Well then when little man came out I said his name would be Gavin but then I kept looking at him and with his fuzzy blonde hair I just did not see a Gavin and so Landon became the name! By the way if you didn't know Kendall is a HUGE soccer fan and so yes our son is named after Landon Donavon, Kendall's favorite American player and to us, the best player in American history.

This first month of Landon's life has been quite the adventure and I am so exited for all of the months and years to come! It has been hard but o so worth it! I talked a lot about that in my Mother's Day post that is just right before this one if you are wanting to know about my struggles as a mom. But I must say, Landon is the biggest blessing in mine and Kendall's lives and he makes us that much more grateful as our roles as mother & father on this earth. We are so glad little Landon has chosen us to be his parents, when you think about that, it's a really big job! Landon chose us to lead him and guide him and be his examples through this life! When I think about my job as a mother in that way, I think of Christ. So I know that for little Landon I need to strive to follow Christ each day so I then can turn and be the example I am supposed to be for my son.

It is so fun to watch Landon each and every day, grow and learn more about this place, his parents and himself. Also with Landon getting older my anxiety is going WAY down, of course I still worry but I realize that Heavenly Father is watching over us and will make sure things happen they way they need to. I know He keeps Landon safe and I need to trust in that and stop worrying about every little thing that happens, I sure feel bad for our pediatrician, poor guy has to listen to all of my questions! But I can assure you that Landon is happy and healthy and growing a ton each day. He will be 6 weeks on Thursday and in 21.5 inches long and weighs 10.3 ounces! I found out his weight when we went in last week to get his gassy problems and huge belly button looked at! He has a herniated belly button, but that is normal and will go away within the first year and if not they do a simple procedure when he is 2, so we are not worried! Anyways, Landon weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces at his 2 weeks appointment, so in about two and a half weeks this chubby guy gained over 2 pounds! My worries of acid reflux were shut down when the doctor saw that weight, what can I say, Landon takes after his Momma and LOVES to eat!

That is a little about the newest little George, we love him tons and I promise to actually keep everyone posted on him. He is a lot more fun then Kendall and I! Landon makes many different faces and with his big lips like his Dad's, he makes the best pouty face. Landon has started to lift his own head and when you put him on his belly he will lift is arms, head & legs all at the same time. It is so fun to see him start doing these things! His greatest talents are eating, sleeping, pooping and tooting (I have never heard a new born toot and poop as loud as this little guy)!

Here are A LOT of pictures of me pregnant and of Landon. I tried to put them in order as best as I could, so I hope you enjoy!

Halloween 2014 is when the big announcement of Baby G was broadcast to the world!
This is how Baby G showed us he was a boy! The ultrasound tech turned on the monitor & this was the first picture we saw. From that point we knew that our little man would not be a shy one!

Christmas eve in Island Park with Kendall's family. Baby G is the best present we could ask for!

My two amazing friends Shelby & Korey & I at my shower in San Diego! Baby G is so lucky to have so may wonderful people in this world who love him! :)
At midnight on April 9th we got to the hospital... Baby G was on his way!!

Landon Reynold George born April 9th 2015 at 11:47 AM. 7 lbs 10 oz, 20 inches long. We fell in love with him right when he came out, I could never imagine my life without this sweet little boy!

Landon's going home outfit, I sure loved this outfit & he matched his Daddy so that made it even cuter! The minute we got home it was all off, too many clothes! ;)

Our first picture together as a family (don't mind my disgusting look, I just wanted to go home and sleep)!

I love the way Landon sleeps... every time I check on him his hands are in a different position!
This is just the cutest thing to me! I love both of these handsome guys more than anything!

Here is the famous pout face! This is what happens when Kendall gives Landon kisses....

This is our friends Christian & Macey's sweet little girl Harper holding Landon. It is the cutest thing to watch her want to hold him and help!

Landon ate clearly got his fill on mommy's milk! I love how chubby he is getting :)
I just thought this little jumper is the cutest so of course I had to share!

My cute little man!
We are working on tummy time for naps & having Landon sleep in his bassinet... it lasts about 5 minutes but hey we are getting somewhere!
Like I said before, Landon Loves his hands! One night he even took his arm out of the sleeve of  his sleeper with mittens on and put it through his neck hole so he could sleep with his hands!
Little man is finally starting to like bath time and he loves his little shark towel!

Our big guy turned 1 month a couple weeks ago... the time is going by SO fast & I just want to hold on to me every second and freeze time!

This is the most recent picture of Landon taken on Sunday, I just LOVE these overalls and cannot believe Landon is such a little chunk! Just the way I like it!

Happy baby & happy May! :)
